TRAIN THE TONGUE DAY AND NIGHT. The lingua is intended for daytime use while wearing fixed brackets. The advantage of the Lingua™ is that it can be worn immediately after braces are fitted offering the tongue, cheeks and lips instant protection from the brackets. Because the Lingua™ is an upper-arch appliance; it does not impair speech and can be used throughout the day. DESIGN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LINGUA™ Single arch, low-profile appliance - allows for easy speech and daytime use. Braces channel - accommodates brackets and orthodontic archwire, and protects cheeks and gums. Tongue tag - stops tongue thrusting when in place and encourages nose breathing.
